Go Figure
In Littlerock, California, along Pearblossom Hwy, a local windmill store has every reason to appreciate the wind.

Happy Trails To You...
Another classic motel along HWY 395 in Lone Pine California. Lone Pine s best known for it's old western movie landscapes as well as being the "launching pad" town to Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the Lower 48 at 14,505 feet.

7 Dots in Death Valley
One of my favorite destinations in Southern California is Death Valley. Though it's a near five-hour drive from Los Angeles, the ominous name is synonymous with Hollywood and western folklore. My Friend posing with his wax dots in 113-degree heat.

A Throwback To The 60s
Built in 1965, the Palm Springs Visitor Center was once home of the Tramway Gas Station. I drive by this "Desert Modern" architectural masterpiece often but never stopped in until today. The flying angular roof is reminiscent of the Rat Pack guys like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. Bob Hope's house is just a few miles from here too. Those were the days!
The building is also at the turnoff for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The tram was completed in 1963 and whisks tourist up the side of Mt. San Jacinto to over 8,000 feet.

Me & the Mammoth Mountain Snow Bunnies
It's been nearly three weeks since my last post! Weekends out of town and the incredible stress of sales in this economy has forced my focus in other areas for a while. Thank you all, for you continued visits to DailyPhotoLA despite my apparent neglect. I'm still here and shooting.

Free Breakfast
It took me a few minutes to figure this scene out: with the economy this bad, how can so many people afford to eat out on a Tuesday morning--so many that a line wraps halfway around what used to be Van de Kamps?
