Happy in Red

Sierra Madre, CA -- Older folks are irresistible to shoot, especially when they are either real happy or especially angry. Snapping shots of happy elderly people is a pleasure, yet shooting a sour old man who is mad at the world is just plain ol' fun.

I think it's safe to say these two are among the first group I mentioned.

Los Angeles Industrial

Vernon is an industrial section of Los Angeles. I spend a fair amount of time here for work, as I have a few customers I call on in this part of town. I took this photo while crossing railroad tracks. It was late in the day and I thought the light was especially attractive, much like this scene. I love grit.

Mid Century Pasadena

Pasadena -- Morning light casts long shadows on a lone liquor store along Foothill Blvd. Nothing I see in this photo look extraordinary, except for that it's simple. I need more simplicity.
