Los Angeles, Ca -- First class accommodations when traveling with the circus. Truly is the greatest show on earth.

I took this photo in the city of Commerce, a few miles east of downtown LA. It was a hot day and no breeze.

What Word do You See?

Angeles National Forest (Los Angeles) -- This weekend was supposed to be one of the hottest on record. LA valleys were well over 100F degrees, but high in the mountains above LA, we enjoyed much cooler temps.

About the photo: After completing a long section of our backpack trip (22 miles total) with the Boy Scouts, we all enjoyed telling stories around the campfire. I thought I would snap one shot just for the heck of it. I didn't notice what was hidden in the image until now. I did not manipulate this photo in any way.

Perfect for the weather we are having...

A Piece of Heaven Above The Heat

Yosemite National Park -- Los Angeles is experiencing a heat wave this week. Palm Springs was 115f degrees while suburbs in LA was a cool 107. What better way to beat the heat than to rise above the traffic, the concrete and menagerie of people and just be...?

At the bottom of the trail leading to Cathedral Lake is a sign with the words of John Muir after visiting this area in 1869, "This I may say is the first time I have been at church in California."

Heat in the City

Los Angeles -- A jet on final approach at LA International Airport.

One thing we Angelinos have in the summer is heat and haze, which make for world-class sunsets. We also have billboards, palm trees, power lines and clutter; welcome to LA.
