I have never tried squared waffles. And I don't think I have ever had waffles for breakfast. But who knows maybe I will try that tomorrow.
In The US, waffles are typically eaten at breakfast. However, waffles and fried chicken are pretty popular in the South. There is restaurant chain, Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, that features chicken and waffles. They typically serve round waffles.
