Sunny Pasadena Trails

Meet Festus and friend (Festus being the hound). I ran into the two along the Lower Arroyo Seco during a hike Saturday. Festus is a tall, handsome dog with a gruff voice to match his front porch, coon-hunting persona. He wasn’t too sure about a Nikkor lens pointing at his face but he did let me capture his striking profile.

The Arroyo Seco is a shady dirt road and trail which winds along a stream, eventually transporting hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians to a number of wooded destinations, all within a five-mile walk from Pasadena.

Aw, Festus is adorable. By the way, Festus is my husbands great grandfather's middle name...wonder where that came from?!

The face of the hound is gorgeous (as is your text!) but it is the trail itself that appeals so very much. Fancy having something that beautiful totally within reach of a morning's walk.

Aw, sweet Festus, thanks for the introduction! Neat hiking trail, too. Never been hiking around Pasadena before. Does walking miles and miles back to your car after a UCLA/USC game count? ;o)

That has to be the coolest photo of man and his dog I have ever seen. I love the perspective, line of sight, composition... Everything. Really, really well done!
