Another classic motel along HWY 395 in Lone Pine California. Lone Pine s best known for it's old western movie landscapes as well as being the "launching pad" town to Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the Lower 48 at 14,505 feet.
Have you ever driven to the edge of Bishop and and instead of taking a left and heading up to Mamoth you go straight toward Benton? Some weird stuff is out that way.

This looks like the kind of place we used to stay in on our trips west from Illinois when I was a kid. We always took Route 66.
