Waiting for Autumn

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

Backpacking in Los Angeles

Pasadena -- Without question, one could not ask for a better view to wake up to. Only a one-hour hike takes you up to 2,600 feet, above Los Angeles county, overlooking the city and all it's splendor.

More Fall

We may not have the most brilliant Autumn here in LA but we do get splashes of color every once in a while.

Autumn is Here

Thanks to a recent cold snap, we seem to be getting a small display of Fall. It's almost time to start chopping wood and cleaning out the furnace. Oh, but wait..., this is Southern California and we are not supposed to have a Fall, are we?

Autumn In Winter

During a hike yesterday afternoon, I looked over the trail to see that there is still "change" in the air and in the trees of Pasadena. Just thought I would throw this in.

A Taste of Autumn

I just returned from four days in Mammoth Lakes, California. I know..., it's a stretch to call the Eastern Sierra a part of Los Angeles, but Angelinos do consider Mammoth Mountain "LA's Playground."
The Fall colors were nearly at their peak in Bishop, CA, about 45 minutes south of Mammoth along Highway 395.

Room With a View

Raymond Ave, Pasadena--Taken at the "magic hour" (90 minutes before sunrise, or 90 minutes after sunset), a man looks out from his balcony onto Memorial Park. I guess they call this the "dog days of summer?" Although, lately Pasadena/LA has seen some beautiful, warm evenings, I think I'm ready for Autumn.

Here is a little touch of Fall. This shot taken at the same place (in an empty swimming pool) as my new profile picture.
