Los Angeles Industrial

Vernon is an industrial section of Los Angeles. I spend a fair amount of time here for work, as I have a few customers I call on in this part of town. I took this photo while crossing railroad tracks. It was late in the day and I thought the light was especially attractive, much like this scene. I love grit.

Roadside Sculpture

Moorpark, Calif. -- Ominous rock sculls, dragons and tikis keep watch of speeding trucks and commuters passing through Grimes Canyon Road, north of Los Angeles. Driving across the two-lane, one cannot miss the sculptures carved into the side the of the mountain.

Graffiti Lite

Pasadena -- I don't understand most graffiti, especially when someone's name is carved onto a toilet seat at McDonald's. What's up with that? Is the porcelain tagger now the "ruler" of fast food privies? And then we have to sit on his work?

Hey, I'll take the scribble--like the one pictured above--over defacing entire walls, trains and store fronts. For some reason, this tag is less offensive than most. I was drawn to it--hence the the photo.

Good job, Jet.

Downtown Graffiti

Downtown LA -- Most of the time, when I see graffiti, it makes me angry. Sometimes, as in this case, it could help the value of a building.
