7 Dots in Death Valley

One of my favorite destinations in Southern California is Death Valley. Though it's a near five-hour drive from Los Angeles, the ominous name is synonymous with Hollywood and western folklore. My Friend posing with his wax dots in 113-degree heat.

his feet look like eyes, his arms form the outline of a frogs head, the shadow from his arms are the fins and the wax balls look like wax balls (or maybe polka dots).

I've nipped around the edges of Death Valley but have never actually been in the thick of it.

Very nice photo!

This photo was actually taken in 1986 on my Nikon FE2 using Kodachrome 64. Those were the days.

Many have driven past this desert gem--Death Valley should be added to everyone's "Bucket List" of places to visit.

OK...I'm gonna show my ignorance here. What is the significance of the wax dots? Was it some sort of meditation thing or maybe something one does in the desert??? Remember, I'm a Smoky Mountain girl and honestly not very well-informed about things of this sort. lol

The dots mean nothing. My friend is an artist and he thought melting wax dots may make a nice photo. They ended up not melting as much as he had hoped despite the heat. Oh well...

Very cool shot. I've always wanted to go to Death Valley for my birthday in March. Seems the perfect time.
