A Lone Cross in the Desert

Palmdale -- Although I took this shot last December, it reminds me of the people we have lost in our lives. Perhaps the cross means something different to everyone; it is a symbol of torture, pain, sacrifice, forgiveness, love, hate, loss, peace, and most recently a memorial to the veterans of WWI in the East Mojave Preserve.

A little sad and odd. Roadside crosses often commemorate an accident site too, don't they?

I wonder why the tables are set up?

My best friend is buried in Lancaster. None of the cemetery restrictions you find in Los Angeles. Her Greek Orthodox mother tends her grave daily and has planted trees that she fills with brik a brac.
