I took a series of "burst" shots, trying to keep the dog from pawing my lens. He/she was so friendly and affectionate, I could hardly get a decent photo. Afterward, I gave plenty of ear rubs and verbal affirmation before moving on.
I chose to have the dog's owners legs in the picture to help show that it was a warm day--warmer than most summer days at the beach.
Winter in California: there is good reason to smile about the weather!
